MERCYFUL FATE

Black metal?I am not really the person to tell,never having heard black metal,for the simple reason that downloading all these black metal bands is not easy and of course the records store never have any.
But what i can tell you is that if you download,buy,steal or borrow this record and hear it you will be entertained thoroughly unless you are some intellectual prick or don't like rock'n'roll.
Another thing i can tell you is that black or not this record is metal and it is heavy ,the singer is someone called King Diamond who instead of producing inhuman grunts from his trap ,a sine qua non of death metal and all those extreme forms of metal wails and has a rather thin high pitched wail.Also,the lead guitarist is good,very good !Ugly riffs?Haunting dark solos that echo eerily from your speakers?You name it,he's got it.Or rather,i should say,they have got it.Lyrics,from what i can discern and infer from the song titles faithfully carry on the Black Sabbath tradition.And,also it is sometimes as fast as hell and sometimes slow,so you have the best of both worlds.and no long slow parts to show off their stylistic diversity.So you know you are gonna have a gala time !Do put this on in the night and darken your room to produce the desired effect ! And,also i don't know what else to say,since describing each and every song is not really my style.Nor do i know anything about what is going on,besides the fact that whatever it is,it is good and yummy.
Oh,and the title song is an Allman Brothers cover.
