DIV'S DESULTORY ROCK REVIEWS

THE DOORS

Strange Days Have Found Us!Uh!Huh!
I Guess they were right in a way when they said that Music is our only Friend in these degenerate days.

The Doors! One of my favourite artists, even though i've just started listening to them.
I've only got Strange Days and the Best of right now at the present and I like them so much that I wanted to review them as soon as I heard them.I am sure that everyone has heard about Jim Morrison(heard him also).I love his Uh!s and Huhs and Yeahs!.No one sings the way he did.The way he carries out the songs with nonchalance and the arrogance in his voice(meant in the positive way)is.....something quite different.I mean most singers sound the same in these times. What do you do if you have to tell somebody how that singer from that band that has just come up sings.Or suppose you haven't listened to the latest song by Backboys and somebody makes you listen to a song by N'shit you haven't listened to before and he tells you it is a song by Backboys most probably you will believe him.
What!I didn't understand what I just wrote.

Well anyways nobody reads what I write so I might as well confuse myself.

Well I was talking about a door.No sorry, THeDoOrS.Right.Let's continue with my critical and unbiased review of The Doors.
The Doors are lovely! You've to hear them to believe it!Don't just stand there; go and do it!

No, wait, read my reviews before you go.

What an album! My god,Damn him! What a helluva album! The aura of the Doors created by Ray Manzarek's keyboards(I love those keyboards.Oh how I love those Keyboards.)Robert Kreiger's guitars .Densmore's drums(particularly cymbals) and yes.Oh yes!Jim Morrison's voice. These are such a heady mix on this album that that...this album got a clear ++++ by me!

Jokes apart  the best song on this album is..everything except the speech by Jim Morrison that they named Horse Latitudes. This has to be their best work ...well I'm not in a position to say that but yes..if not the best  one of the best because rock'n'roll don't get better then this piece'a'music and I'm not exaggerating one weeny bit when I say that folks.

And the best thing about The Doors that they don't sound like anyother band that i've listened to.They are unique. And they are damn good. And anybody who says otherwise should.......they should..........listen to this album before they say it.The Doors continue with the'epic 10 minute plus song at the end' formula that they derived on the first album(I've seen the track listing and The End comes on the Greatest hits)and this one is better then  The End.See the overall sound of The Doors is so good that I can't describe it.They are one of my favourite bands(already).

If I had to pick out favourites it would be You're Lost Little Girl ,People Are Strange, I Can't See Your Face In My Mind and When The Music's Over. And if my brother had to pick out favourites he would choose  Strange Days ,Love Me Two Times ,Unhappy Girl and Moonlight Drive .And if my friend had to....

You have probably got what i'm trying to say if your intelligence is more then that of some guy who thinks he can do what he wants, when he wants.Unfortunately he comes from the same country as that of Abrahm Lincoln,Martin Luther King and The Doors.(initials are GB if you are that dumb and need a hint)

The Best Of The Doors  A+

Wow!Lot of stuff from Strange Days,The Doors. It is dissapointing that i got nothing more to hear from Soft Parade,Morrison Hotel.cut some stuff from Strange Days from this I would say.Damn selfish of me,I know , what about the people who have only this album?Yep.I suppose they should have released a a double what-you-call-em's.

Of course all the staples are here,Light my Fire,Break On through(one of my absolute favorites). This compilation welds the early part(the absolute pyschedelic sound) of the first 2 albums and then carries the transformation into the blues influenced era(Morrison Hotel).Nothing much from these two albums-Morrison Hotel,Waiting for the sun, nothing from The Soft Parade.Has 3 songs from L.A.Woman.Good compilation, but for those who have the first two albums there is no need to buy this. The rating is purely academic.
