The only Who I have heard is some tracks off Who's Next and Quadrophenia.I like the Who's Next tracks but..........
Quadrophenia C-
For the first 2 minutes absolutely nothing happens except the sound of ocean waves. So that is 2 minutes
of filler.Ha!Then we start off with a bang with "Can You See The Real Me".Yawn.And Yawn. And Yawn Some more. But I like the
piece that follows the song ..that is for a few mnutes. Then the synths come in and you feel you are listening to some
entrance ceremony of some stupid sports event or the music of some snotty airline commercial. All right I'll say the piece
is patchy.Sometimes you like the synths and the buildup that they keep doing(it's a buildup musical piece isn't it?). And
don't expect me to take song names from here on in.I am not gonna look it up.It's 3'o clock and the only thing I am gonna
do is just write and blab about this here thingy which is a goddamn 85 minutes long.I've had this for a whole 1 year. And during
that time period i've been able to listen to the whole thing running just once.I haven't got the damn time to listen to the
whole thing. There are some good parts on the whole thing. That is the most positive thing you can say about it.I am supposed
to be a positive reviewer you know.A very positive reviewer. I mean somebody has to be positive to write more than 2 lines
about this bag of poop. It's not as if my attention span is all that short.I mean I can listen to "The Wall" without
letting my attention waver.Yeah,seriously.(The Wall is an excellent album,if you want to know. The first year that i passed
with the wall in my collection I think it must have been in my cassete player all the time.Compare that to this.) Where
are the hooks on this thing, first of all? There are a couple of them scattered hither and thither but i guess that is all.The
whole thing sounds the same for a long time. See.I've just started listening to the whole thing(it's 3:20 now) for 20 minutes
and there is no song that begs to be listened to again.I mean a album that doesn't have anything but filler on it for the
first 20 minutes, that album is called a classic. You can accuse me of countless crimes(wrong spelling,no punctuation
to talk of,no insight, poor wit,no complete discographies..etc,etc) but one thing you can't accuse me of is getting influenced
by anything anybody else says. Wait a minute, there was a good catchy vocal line right there!(24:29)It's not been repeated
again of course. They don't like to repeat good hooks. And what's with the "I've had enough of blah blah blah".You don't
need to keep repeating ..whoa!There was a good lead guitar solo there!Lasted for approx 15 seconds. *5 minutes pass* Whoa!
Another good hook.I like the horns on this one.Stop tapping your foot against the piano ,man.It hurts.STOP! Finally the
thing stopped to be replaced by..another boring piece.Again the "Why should I care" refrain.Wait the ocean waves are back!(45:49).No!They
are gone now.He blabbing something about a BEACH!A beach of all places. Why not a whorehouse? On the other hand why not a beach? Why
not ? Oh man,we are past the 50 minute mark and still there is nothing good to recommend.Well that's it.I tell you ,50
minutes is a long time to be bored. If there is anything good left you can tell me about it.Yes,you.Anybody will do.Anyways
the album gets a C- and that is my last word.I am tired!I am off to listen to some CCR now. * Sound of Ocean waves
fills my speakers*
See...... i'm not saying anything about the Who in general. They might be a great band. This might be their only bad album.Maybe
all of their other albums are chockful of Baba O Reileys and Blue Eyes........you never know do ya'.....
